Moving To FL Pt 3: The Day We Left Mays Landing

Current mood:  tired

We last left off on Saturday March 4, 2006 at 4:33 PM.

The hell of moving out. Well what became more apparently weird about the moving out experience was seeing my first apartment revert back to the way I found it……….empty.

John and Kate gallantly showed up to help us pack up the budget truck that Saturday. Pictured below is John trying to “shake me off”.

A little bit before the last webcam picture above was taken, we decided to make one last Wawa run. And by run, I mean, walk.

We walked by my 2nd favorite cemetary in mays landing.

Towards the good ole wawa on Route 50 and 3rd St.

John watched as me and Jackie spooned one last time as we walked through the Wawa parking lot.

I hugged the frozen food section door as Jackie grabbed my package in Wawa, a great tradition indeed.

Someone was cracking jokes as we waited for our 2 ft Italian Hoagie to be prepared. I asked the dude to make it good since it was my last day in New Jersey..Indeed he did, but he put a little too much mayonaisse on the side for John (not pictured). However he did give us a shit load of pickles, which vegetarian Kate tore up.

We passed by “Jo Jo” on the way back. “Jo Jo” is my neighbors dog that I named on my own. It’s actually a girl dog named “Sadee”.

We made our way back into 210 Hanthorn St.

We ate the food. A few hours later we finished up boxing things, well almost everything. We went to get some Chinese food at “Best Food In Town” with Kevin and Crystal (who didn’t help move, so I didn’t pay for their dinner).

Me and Jackie went back into our apartment one last time to clean up a little bit and gather the rest of our things laying around. Pictured below are the empty rooms…

My Ex-Home Office

An empty bed room without posters

The bathroom

Jackie empties out the kitchen…

Me and Jackie stood in the middle room in silence. It was empty. Nothing left but us. We hugged eachother for a few minutes and shed a couple tears. It was time to leave this place…We took a last picture of the two of us in there. It was a long day and it was about midnite at this point.

I went outside and took a pic of the moving truck all packed up

Jackie’s car was prepared for the tow…

Ande my era of living in Mays Landing, had come to an end…

Stay tuned for part 4…

awww this made me teary eyed and altho that apartment was better than alot of shit holes in NJ but not as great as our new place because our new place is sooooooooo much better,i loved it because it was our first place togther.

It was so sad when everything was empty and we were there i would turn around and think of things that happened and it was like a movie as i glanced around almost like a 6 feet under moment and i thought of us chasing each other around the vicious circle through the doors and rooms and trick each other by moving the hanging beads like we were running through em, or walkin in the front door and looking to my right and seeing u working on the computer turning around and smiling at me when i came home from work, cooking dinner u would wrap your arms around me when i was at the stove and i would tell you ” be careful don’t bump the stove” countless times and .. u never did thank god. or when we’d get in fights and we’d always slam this one door i don’t know i think because it slammed the loudest its the same door that would open on its own sometimes at night and i would be so scared  or when we’d dance together even with no music on we’d slow dance in the middle room just because or when we blasted old songs in the mornings and dance like maniacs on the bed or when our house had gone though so many rearrangments and i remember them especially when the big screen used to be in that little ass room what were we thinkin, or the countless time i’d go up the steps and here u blasting music so loud and i’d tell u “hunnie!!!! turn it down its too freakin loud!!” or hearing u play guitar quietly in a room away from me and i’m quietly peek in on you. all those memories in that apartment..i hold close to me stupid things that i never realised mattered to me til we left that day. we have tons of memories to make and more i could mention i , i could go on forever mentioning them, i’ll never forget that place.
I love you, thank you for making life so grand…

I’m feeling the sentimentality here.  I’ve never moved THAT far before though so I’m sure the emotions are stronger and you have more of a sense of a real adventure in store.

Wawa must REALLY be a big deal!

Awwww this is so cool. Glad you guys took pics. It’s gonna be so nostalgic to look at these pics in  15 years or so.

Interesting I always wanted to write a song with Mays Landing in the title somehow…I guess now would be a good time to do it since I’ve lived through it.
