Wow, great episode last night. I agree there was a bit too much of Paris and it did slow down the pace of the episode, but there were so many great things going on.
I’m so glad Tony is stepping up to AJ and just starting to go berzerk on him…but is it too late? Isn’t it always too late? AJ is becomming such a fuck up and he doesn’t care. Carmela is constantly worried about him and it’s just getting worse. It’s about time Tony stepped up. I really loved seeing Tony smash the windshield of AJ’s Xterra.
There is an all out NJ and NY war brewing. Phil has really fuct up by whacking Vito, no matter if he thinks it was the right thing to do or not. Silvio and Carlo fucked up by killing Fat Dom. There’s only one signal that will send to Phil, no matter why they did it. (That murder scene was hilarious too…from the “Fur Elise” ring tone, Silvio’s look on his face afterwords and Carlo’s and Silvio’s explanations to Tony afterwords)Perhaps the war we’ve all been waiting for since season 5 is about to erupt. And what better time than in the season finale (and with 9 episodes left in the series)…meaning no holds barred. Anyone can (and will???) die.
I’m taking birds as the new symbolism for death on the Sopranos (taking the place of eggs…as if the birds come after the eggs and we’re in a new phase of life/death?)…There were birds flapping around after Phil and Tony met about Vito (right before Vito got whacked) and also a few scenes of birds in Paris before Fat Dom got whacked.
Carmela’s trip was boring at times, however I think I like her dreams a lot better than Tony’s…she’s being haunted by Adrianna. And did you notice when she saw the spot light in paris? Similar to the spot light Tony saw in his “coma”…I wonder if that symbolized Carmela’s awakening. Either way, Carmela will dig depper into what really happened to Adrianna. Will she ever find out the truth?
I loved the scene of Tony getting a blowjob while the song “Back in Black” was on. Referencing back to a topic I was talking about – Tony’s downfall is women and cheating on Carmela. As Christohper’s downfall is heroin and he went back to that, Tony is turning back to women…cheating on Carmela…Tony is Back in Black. You know he’s gonna go after the real estate agent next…
As for Vito’s son and daughter, they both now know the truth…and they have no father now. That was a really fuct up scene when Phil was consoling Vito’s wife and when Vito’s kids were reading the newspaper. Phil is truly an asshole. He’ll get whats coming. I’m hoping either Christopher or Benny whack Phil.
I’m not sure why they showed the photographer at the end…maybe one last ode to Vito before the credits rolled? Or will something else become of it? I’m not sure.
In the preview for the last episode this year, we see Carmine Jr. – making me wonder once again, if something happens to Phil, will little Carmine take over NY and will Tony take advantage of little Carmine and run the NY family somehow?
Oh and as for the rumors of Vito raping Finn, I don’t think that will be happening anytime soon.
So, Fat Dom is one of Phil’s guys? And he came over to the Deli to start busting balls about Vito? NOW I get it. He didn’t just get killed for talking shit on Vito, he got killed because he was implying that the Jersey Crew was weak for having a “Fanoic” (sp?) for a captain. Right?
Yeah he was one of the guy’s that was there beating Vito to death. That scene when Fat Dom got killed was awesome though. I think it’s one of my favorite Sopranos whacking scenes..up there with Richie Aprile and Ralph.
damn, sounds like i missed a good episode. i only saw like the first half or so. i had no idea vitro got whacked!
as for tony and the stripper. my husband said that carmela gave him “permission” to cheat. when they were talking about the paris trip she said something about “you can do whatever it is you boys do”. i didnt see it that way, but am starting to now.
