A Trip to NJ

Day 1: Friday August 25, 2006

I arrived in Philadelphia, PA around 5:10 PM; Dave & Amanda’s wedding started @ 6 PM. Kate and John arrived sometime around 5:25. We were flying to NJ with John behind the wheel – first stop, the super wawa on Delsea Drive & Route 40 in Malaga.

Next stop was the wedding. I quickly dressed in the car as we neared wheaton village. We arrived to the wedding just on time as the bride Amanda was walking up the aisle. Unfortunately during the rush, I forgot my camera in my backpack in Kate & John’s car, so I don’t have any pictures from day one, but let me tell you this: the wedding was a blast. It was surreal to arrive back in NJ and see a lot of my friends again…I hadn’t been there for almost 6 months, but it was great to be back and hanging out with my friends again right off the bat.

Above are the newlyweds and their dog – Briggs Stratton (taken 2 days after the wedding).

The wedding lasted until about 12 midnite, at which point Kate & John picked me up. We rode through Richland, NJ and past my old house and then to Collins Lake where we picked up some belongings and headed back up to Highland Park where Kate & John lived. We spooned the cats Thom & Song for a bit, watched a bit of the roast of Artie Lange and then fell asleep sometime after 3 AM…it was a long day.

Day 2: Saturday August 26, 2006

I awoke in North Jersey with some cat spoonin’. Some picture taking began to finally ensue…

Song got a lil bigger, Kate & Thom are still spooning and John still loves pissing off the Yahoo Gamers in online games of Texas Hold ‘em.

Next up Kate and John introduced me to the “Stella Shorts”, we watched Groundhog’s Day and then we headed back to South Jersey while John spooned his MAC.

Kate & John dropped me off at my friend Bill’s new crib in Mays Landing, NJ. Bill had plenty of Yuengling on tap as well as a full liquor bar lined up, with plenty of tequila. “Down the hatch”.

Bill wanted to watch me school Mike Tyson on some old school Nintendo, but unfortunately, many years have passed since the game was released back in 1987 when I was a young nintendo head and I wasn’t able to beat that sunnavabitch like I could 9 years ago. Tyson knocked my ass out.

As the night progressed, Bill got more wrecked and spooned his wife, I tried to walk off some of the beers I drank and cookie kept following me around and leaving “presents” on the floor for Bill.

Day 3: Sunday August 27, 2006

On Sunday morning I went to work with Bill and Anastasia to the Hamilton Mall. Bill hooked me up with a free cut and then I checked out the mall for a bit. Dave and Amanda picked me up from the mall and we headed over to their house in Laurel Lake for an after wedding party. More good times were ahead.

Dave got his drink on, BB Licious took Guy’s bike for a spin and then Dave popped a wicked wheely.

The corona’s were cold and the laughs were a plenty.

John Escabar rocked out, Guy & Jon D traded some drummer stories and Briggs Stratton joined the party.

While listening to a Westnile play list, Dave started rocking out on “stick guitar” and John Escabar backed him up.

Dave admired Guy’s head, Schlong made a grand entrance with his 6 pack and Guy impersonated the wedding photographer’s moves.

Pictured above I kept pissing off Schlong by flashing pics and blinding him. Jon D and I were a few of the last survivors of the night.

As the night wore on, much alcohol had been consumed – Dave, Jon and I were in critical condition. I don’t even remember taking these pictures, but I do remember the bottle of wine Dave popped open. It looks like Jon D was rockin out some air drums. The coronas piled up.

At this point I was snapping pictures of the walls and taking self portraits – obvious signs of a drunken state of mind.

Day 4: Monday August 28, 2006

I awoke around 9 AM Monday morning – once again another late night and early to rise routine. I couldn’t explain how tired I was at this point. Dave and John hooked me up with a ride to Philly airport (with one more Wawa stop thrown in for good measure). My plane was an hour late to arrive.

I snapped some pics in the airport and on my plane and before I knew it, I was back in sunny Florida. Jackie picked me up at the airport around 5:30. I was home and sleeping around 6 or so, and I didn’t wake up until 7:30 AM, Tuesday morning.

I think I drank more alcohol this weekend than I have since I moved to FL; good times.

Ahhh… Tyson’s punchout brought back some memories.  And when did drinking and treadmills become a good idea? Or was it?
