The Hi-Def DVD War…Is over.

Go out and buy yourself a Blu-Ray DVD player folks.

Best Buy, Wal-Mart & Netflix have all announced that they are abandoning HD-DVD and will fully support Blu-Ray.

Toshiba is getting ready to abandon the HD-DVD format (and lose hundreds of millions of dollars).

The Hi-Def DVD War is over…the new war begins…DVD vs. Blu-Ray.

Let the games begin.

Thank CHRIST!!!

I was really stressin’ over this. I’m a big Blu-Ray supporter, and already have about 15 blu-ray movies. I was really disappointed when I found out that Paramount had made an exclusive deal with HD DVD. That meant I couldn’t get Transformers, The GodFather, The Matrix, and all kinds of other goodies. I’m glad to see this shit is finally over. Blu-Ray is clearly the better product – it has 2x’s the capacity on one disc – I mean, that alone should tell people something.

Things are finally starting to look up.

Yeah, I just read that too. Fortunately, I never even tried to figure out which was better, and I guess that was a good thing b/c if I had bought an HD-DVD player and HD-DVDs, I’d be pretty pissed off right now!!

Meh. I still believe digital downloads are the whole reason Microsoft was supporting HD-DVD to begin with. To let them get their shit together on Live.

Now that they and Netflix have it going…

Apple pushing for the same thing. Its only a matter of time. Might as well make it a PS3 so you can use it for something else once Blu-Ray is no longer supported.

I wouldn’t mind digital downloads…but my concern is with hard drives crashing and the amount of data that could be lost…I guess I’m old fashioned and I like my DVD collection..having the cases and discs…it’s weird though, as far as my CD collection, I put it all on my iPod and haven’t looked back..my CDs haven’t seen the light of day since I lived in NJ.
