Passing down a Foochuck

Someday, when my days have passed and I no longer have a need for computers anymore, I wonder what will become of my screen name – Foochuck. This generation is probably one of the first being raised with instant messaging readily available; but does anyone ever wonder what will become of their screen name?

I know alot of people like to change their screen names, but I treat mine like my real name, I just don’t change it. Hell if we changed our real names all the time, how would anyone be able to locate or keep up with us? It would be a mess, so that’s how I treat my screen name.

Back to the topic at hand, what will become of Foochuck? Will I pass my screen name down to a new generation? Perhaps to one of my offspring (yes I’ll have kids someday…), maybe a niece, nephew, or someone that’s important to me…?

And so I wonder now, will the screen name that I use be passed down generations…will anyone remember who started it, who used it and who it was. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this, but it’s just the way I think. It would be interesting though, to be able to pass down your screen name…I know that everyone probably just wants their own, but being able to pass down a screen name would mean that Foochuck will live forever.

Life after Star Wars (spoilers)

Well I’ve seen it. The movie I’ve been waiting to see for about 7 years now. The Star Wars Prequel that puts the other prequels into perspective and leads you right into the original Star Wars Trilogy. I’ve seen it two times now, and yes it was better the 2nd time. There are so many subtleties for the Star Wars fans in this movie. This movie lived up to my expectations and went beyond that. Hell a Star Wars Movie with a lightsaber duel within the first 10 minutes is friggen awesome in and of itself. I must admit I wasn’t really looking forward to seeing the birth of darth vader. I figured most of the footage we’d seen of him in the trailers is pretty much all that we would get and yes thats about true. I was more interested in seeing the reasons as to why Anakin would join Palpatine, seeing Palpatine reveal himself to Anakin, seeing Obi-Wan kick Anakin’s ass, and to see what the hell would happen to Padme, although about a half hour into the film I think her fate is pretty much obvious. The birth of Dart Vader was cool though. I liked seeing Anakin’s face before the mask was lowered on to him. Yoda and R2D2 had some great scenes too. I can’t help but be curious as to why R2 didn’t use some of those powers in the original trilogy…I guess seeing him bounce out of Anakin’s flyer is cool and all, but WTF didn’t he ever do that before? Mace Windu did indeed go out in a blaze of glory. So I guess he is responsible for the Emporer’s new appearance…although I do wonder if the Emporer let Mace get the upper hand just so that Anakin would witness that. Yoda and Palpatine’s fight was alot of fun. I liked seeing them duel in the Senate Building…would’ve liked Yoda to get some more hit’s in but oh well, he tried. This movie brought alot of closure at the end, answered all my questions and left me wanting to watch it again as well as the original Trilogy DVDs and hell, possibly Episodes I and II again sometime. It’s kind of weird to finally see a movie I’ve been waiting so long to see. I’m happy I stayed spoiler free (almost) before seeing this movie too, cause it is alot more rewarding to see it like that. Now I’m looking forward to watching all 6 movies sometime, when they are all out on DVD (III comes out in December 2005). I would have to rate this movie as possibly my new favorite Star Wars Movie, although The Empire Strikes back could still be on top, I just need to let Revenge of the Sith seep in a little bit more. I’m satisified now, no more waiting. There might be Star Wars TV Shows, Comics and other things (more movies???) coming in the future which is cool, but as far as the main events – the 6 chapters – they are now complete. They are now all available. It’s a great story and if you haven’t checked it out yet, please do so. As far as the viewing order, I would watch them out of order if you are watching them for the first time to get the right effect. After all, thats how us true fans had to do it ;) Episode IV – A New Hope Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back Epiosde VI – Return of the Jedi Episode I – The Phantom Menace Episode II – Attack of the Clones Episode III – Revenge of the Sith May the force be with you.

The Mojito Carcasses Chapter 1 : The Red Cardinal Strikes Richland

I’m writing this post not only because of the fact that it’s about a strange occurence (Weird NJ Worthy? No.) but because I’m hoping someone out there can shine some light as to why this is happening (besides the obvious). A little over a week and a half ago a red cardinal started crashing into the window in my kitchen. My sister Kate first noticed it (or possibly Thom or the Smitten did, but they don’t talk, yet). The bird is relentless. It flies up to the bush in front of the window, perches, aims and fires itself into the window. Now possibly it sees it’s own reflection and it’s become addicted to itself. I see this no differently then how a woman will take hours in the bathroom to get ready to go out. I used to find it really amusing that humans look in the mirror at least once a day for their whole lives while an animal will go it’s whole life without even knowing what a mirror is, yet it looks like this bird has proven me wrong. He’s infatuated with what’s in the mirror. So I wonder, why doesn’t he act this way to the other birds around him? Why does he act this way only to his reflection? What does his reflection have that the other birds don’t? The cardinal has become an everyday occurence around here, just another routine. As simply as the sun comes and goes, so does the red cardinal. It chooses to strike only during daylight hours, though. What it does beyond that time I am unsure, and I could care less. As I write this, it continues to come crashing into the window leaving marks of it’s beak parading all over the glass. The bird also sports a mohawk milliseconds before it chooses to strike the target. Thom seems to be more preoccupied with the bird then the Smitten, which leaves me to believe that Thom has had some run-ins with birds in his former life (aka the time in Atlantic City or wherever the hell he was before Kapluna scooped him up). He chooses to stalk the red one from the inset next to the kitchen where he has a nice panoramic view of the bird landing and attacking. I’m half tempted to let Thom loose on the bird to see what he could come up with…possibly persuade the lil’ bugger to move on from his life here in Richland. So without further ado I present Chapter 1 of the Mojito Carcasses : The Red Cardinal Strikes Richland.

Please post your explanations of this occurence and possibly how to end it (without a {potatoe} gun). Yeast.

The Great Letdown

Ever have the feeling that your whole world can come crashing down at any moment? Like everything is leading up to one great big letdown? Like every path you have chosen leads into the same direction? I feel the weather changing…it does something to me. I feel claustrophobic and I can’t breath too good right now. Whats going on?
