Last night I was playing Texas Hold ‘Em on Xbox Live and while waiting for all 8 players to join the tournament I started talking to the people who had already joined the game.
I asked where everyone was from. One guy said he was from FL. I stated that I live in FL, but I’m originally from NJ. He asked me where in NJ…I replied that I most recently lived in Mays Landing, NJ. He said he used to live there…right off of route 50 near the wawa and the gas station
Now if anyone knows me, you’ll know that the apartment I lived in from late 2004 through March 2006 was right off route 50, near the wawa and the gas station.
Haven’t had this happen to me yet but I think it’s cool that it is possible. I didn’t get a chance to download that free game so I guess it’s even less likely.
yea that was pretty crazy i was like WHAT !!! you should have asked him if he misses the Hamilton Mall ?? hahahaha
The Austrialian guy was a fucking Kike and a half tho WTF he just talked to say words.. nothing made sense. and he laughed at his own jokes. HAHAHA opps
I was here in Florida on September 11, 2001. I wasn’t working in New Jersey as usual. I had flown to Florida on September 10, 2001. We woke up early that Tuesday morning to begin an all day video shoot. Shortly after arriving on location and videotaping for a while, some news started coming across the wire. My brother Chris was the first one to tell me that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. My first response; “Was it a terrorist?”
As we drove from location to location, still working and shooting video, we would get in the car to hear the latest news on the developing story. Soon news of a second plane crashing into another tower and a plane crashing into the pentagon arrived. This day became a nightmare. I didn’t want to work. I just wanted to get glued to the television to hear what the fuck was going on. I wanted to know how and why this happened. I wanted explanations.
After hearing several replays of peoples accounts all day long and just trying to picture what was going on, I finished up work and went straight to a television. I remember the horror of seeing the video of the planes crashing into those buildings and just thinking about being on that plane as a passenger.
A weird darkness overtook my feelings that day. It was like some sort of depression out of nowhere. Feeling so much loss, feeling far away from home and all I had was CNN to deliver each developing story on this crisis.
I started watching the nightly news very frequently during that period. It was a very scary time. Terror levels were raising, flying in airplanes became such a hassle and the thought of how many lives were lost was so devastating to even think about.
The unanswered questions, the 911 myths, the anger, the death, the cowards…there are too many emotions that come about when you think back to 2001. There are too many unanswered questions about that day. It was truly a horrible experience, just being an observer.
This morning I listened to the original 9/11/01 Howard Stern Show Replay and a lot of my emotions came back to me. I had never heard that broadcast and hearing their reactions to the events that day not only brought me another perspective of the horror, but it reminded me of the anger and the pain that came along with it. This also reminded me that people forget. I don’t want 9/11 to be a holiday. I don’t want 9/11 to be an excuse for a day off from school or work.
This is the day that we should remember those events. This is the day when we should remember that this life is not a rehearsal. This is the day when we should remember the people who were lost. I know it is very painful to think back to that day, but it should not be forgotten.
I don’t want to watch any of the movies about 9/11 and the reason is because I couldn’t stand to watch actors trying to portray that horror. I have my own experience of it and I will never forget it.
No matter how scared I was getting on the airplane on September 15, 2001 to return to New Jersey it had to be done. And it was a completely different experience from flying to FL, only 5 days earlier. I’ll never forget my experiences that week and the emotions that developed. I’ll never let go of that anger, it’s one that could never be forgotten.
I had just got home from work when I heard what was going on. I stayed up all day to be ready to be called into work. Only 4 burn patients were sent to Atlantic city hospital. None of the injured were sent to my hospital. But that night at work I heard many stories from the EMT’s of what was going on up in NYC. I did not sleep for 48 hours. I really had problems sleeping for weeks after 9/11. I never told anyone how close I was in joining the armed forces. But I wanted blood after what this group of cowards did to my country.
Yeah but that was only bits and pieces…and once we were driving our client around we switched to a regular news channel…either way that day sucked ass…
i was working ,when it happen . and after the first tower fell .the police came to the salon and told us to go home. and i went home and watch the rest of all the bullshit those fuckers did . god bless AMERICA !!!!
I shall never forget that day either, and you relived part of MY day today………..i was on my way to work listening to howard stern like i did every day, heard it all from him and even had to call my mother (who was at home recovering from surgery) to see if it was true! The first thing I thought was how cruel for Howard to be pulling the same horrible trick those dj’s in boston pulled (was that opie and anthony? i forget, but the whole mayor dying thing………). Mom answered the phone in shock and told me it was true, that she had to go and couldn’t talk. I worked as a bank teller at the time and when i finally got into work i told everyone and they laughed at me, said your lying…………wtf? we had no tv or radio but they finally believed me when the customers came in asking for ALL their money, that day was so horrible!!!! anyway, just wanted to comment, i shall never forget that day, and this morning i had to say goodbye to my cousin as she was leaving for the airport, hopping on a plane at LAX ( i was in la for her wedding shower)………she was nervous but knew she would make it back to the east coast ok, and just found out she did:) whew:)
this might be a little out of place here, but if you haven’t yet seen it, you should watch the video called “loose change”…it’s as blatant a conspiracy theory as any other, but it raises a lot of questions that deserve thought…blind faith in the government is a dangerous thing, as is blind anger…they tell us who to be mad at and we believe them, it might be worth another look
I agree with you, esp. that life is not a rehearsal.
I heard it first on Stern too and remember when they said (initially) that they heard that a small plane had crashed into the WTC. I was getting ready for work (late as usual) and then I turned on the TV. You were smart not to watch all the movies and stuff, although that one the other night on ABC that got all the hype b/c it “might give people the wrong idea” REALLY got me even more pissed off at our government. I don’t want to be scared or live in fear, but you know what? I am scared and I don’t feel safe. And while everyone says to just get over that and try to enjoy each day, I think about it all the time. Those men are sick. They’re evil and they’re ruthless. And they scare the shit out of me. Which is what they wanted to do. So now I hate myself for being exactly what they wanted us to be.
Wow – I really went off on a limb here, here? Make sure the next blog is more chipper, ok Chief? Doh!
Lol…I get the whole vibe that “Saturday Night Wrist” is slang for masturbation…and it looks like some guy is at a peep show..you see the reflection of his eye towards the upper middle of the artwork…or maybe I’m just whacked out.
